Vlaminck colored Springtime
One exhibit you simply can’t miss this spring in Paris is the one dedicated to Maurice Vlaminck at the Luxembourg Museum. The dominant color is fire: the flames of Fauvism which so inspired this painter from 1900 to 1915.
| Vlaminck was impressed by the many different artistic currents flowing at the beginning of the 20th century and gave them a personal, often audacious, interpretation (La Chatigneraie in Chatou, the Man with the Pipe, Sur le Zinc) He set his canvasses ablaze with hot, vivid, colors that made his works blush and palpitate: his flowers burst forth in a symphony of colors. |
| A number of his paintings drew inspiration from the banks of the Seine (The river banks of Nanterrre, the barges of Chatou) You owe it to yourself to rediscover this painter and enjoy the Luxembourg gardens at the same time. Until the 20th of July. |
