Pont Rouelle (Passerelle de Passy)

This railway bridge, also called Passerelle de Passy, was built for the 1900 Exposition Universelle (World Fair).

In 1924, rail traffic was interrupted and the bridge was closed, but the 1985 opening of RER line C led to the complete restoration and the bridge was re-inaugurated in 1988.

The bridge as it stands today is a remarkable combination of stone and iron. It forms an arc over the Île aux Cygnes (Swan Island) connecting the headquarters of Radio France to the Quai de Grenelle.
