Rock'n'Roll 39-59
The " Rock'n'Roll 39-59 " exhibition, at the Fondation Cartier until October 28, tells us about the surge of a musical phenomenon born in the United States in 1939. The boogie-woogie craze at that time marked the beginning of a rebel attitude among young people.
| The exhibition recalls the musical evolution of that period, from the boogie-woogie in 1939 to a more confident rock and roll in the fifties, and gives a parallel view of the major social events of that time. It also evokes the different musical styles which preceded theses years and announced rock'n'roll music: blues, jazz, country and most of all rhythm and blues. A very nice exhibition well presented in the website of the Fondation. |
