1st Arrondissement
The 1st arrondissement is located on the Right Bank, in the very heart of Paris. This geographical centre of Paris is also its oldest arrondissement, and also one of the less inhabited (16 890 inhabitants in 1999).
| This arrondissement offers many centers of interest, and here is a list of the most important places to visit : the Vendôme square, the "Ile de la Cité" (City Island), the Louvre museum, the Tuileries gardens, the Palais-Royal garden, the Châtelet – Les Halles district, the Pont Neuf (Paris oldest bridge), etc.
