One night in the Palais de Tokyo
You like new adventures? A bit wild and on the edge? Here’s one that shouldn’t disappoint: come spend the night on the roof of one of the great museums of Paris. Neat huh?
That’s precisely what the Hotel Everland is offering: A sort of an eco-friendly space capsule erected on the roof of the Palais de Tokyo for a year (well, until December 31st 2008). Two Swiss architects: Salina Lang and Daniel Baumann designed a space sure to give you a unique experience: Being a part of a work of art suspended several dozen meters above the ground.
The Hotel is reduced to its simplest necessities: A room, a bed a living and a bathroom, all designed in sort of a retro 70’s chic. You can rent this unique experience for only a single night. The room has a huge bay window, with no curtains, facing the Eiffel Tower. At night the room is lit by the twinkling of the lights on the tower and the natural glow of Paris. You really feel you’re a part of the living sculpture of the city.
The idea the two architects were after was to get art design and daily life closer together; accessible to everyone. You can reserve this room for you night by simply visiting the Hotel’s web site, But be prepared to be patient for your unique experience over the roofs of Paris.
