Pont de Grenelle
The Grenelle Bridge straddles the Seine between ‘La Maison de Radio-France’ in the 16th arrondissement and the ‘Front du Seine’ neighborhood in the 15th
on the site where a wooden bridge stood in 1827.
| The wooden bridge was replaced in 1873, then entirely rebuilt to adapt to road and river traffic growth in 1968. |
| The bridge ends at L’Ile aux Cygnes, Paris’ third island, where Auguste Bartholdi’s "Freedom lights up the world" statue stands. The statue is a miniature reproduction of the Statue of Liberty in New York, a gift from France to the United States. |
