Paris Climate and Weather

Paris’ weather can be very unpredictable. The City of Lights’ climate is generally described as “mild,” but you never know. Temperatures in summer rarely get higher than 24° Celsius (76° Farenheit), but in recent heat waves it’s sometimes been more than 32° Celsius (90° Farenheit)!

Another unpredictable element of Parisian weather is the rain. Whether the day is sunny and bright, or slightly overcast, chances are there will be at least a brief rain shower. The good news is, these showers rarely last long, and help the city to smell fresh and clean.

Paris’ winter temperatures are also generally considered mild, with lows at 2-4° Celsius (36-38° Farenheit). But certain days can bring bone-chilling winds that make it feel much colder. It doesn’t often snow in Paris, but when it does, the effect can be quite beautiful.

Our advice is to wear layers, and, of course, bring an umbrella!

You can keep up with the rain, wind, snow, heat, and cold, by visiting our very own Chicline.com Weather section (left column in our Home page).
