L'Européen: Honest to goodness cooking
This is the kind of typical Parisian brasserie we like: leather seats, gleaming white table cloths and real linen napkins, waiters in smocks, good, honest, traditional fare and the reassuring background rumble of contented diners.
| The autumn menu at the Européen should get your taste bud’s attention: South Western Duck in honey, the magnificent royal or seafood choucroutes, whole veal kidneys in mustard sauce; or the more classic fresh raw bar of oysters and whelks plus all kinds of succulent shellfish. You can order a sole: meunière or grilled or sea bass in pistou accompanied with sautéed vegetables before finishing up in style with the copious St. James Rum Baba or home made chocolate mouse with toasted brioche. |
| If you’re looking for a typical Parisian bistro with good honest value and no frills go check out the European. You won’t want to leave!
L’Européen, across from the Gare de Lyon, 21 bis, bd Diderot 75012. 7:30 AM to 1:00 AM daily.
