Pont Aval
The last downstream bridge on the Seine, this bridge closes the beltway loop west of the capital.
| At 312.50 meters (1,025.25 feet), the Pont Aval (downstream bridge) is the longest bridge in Paris. It is sister to the Pont Amont (upstream) to the East and like it serves an exclusively functional role: that of handling heavy traffic. |
| For this reason, aesthetic and decorative aspects were not taken into consideration during their design and construction. |
