Paris' Buses

A modern equivalent of the horse-drawn omnibus, today Paris’ autobus (buses) are a common sight on streets throughout the city and suburbs.

The buses come at regular intervals, and are an excellent way to get a cheap motorized tour of the city.

Like the rest of Paris’ public transportation, the bus lines do not run 24 hours a day. All lines are in service from 5:30 am-8:30 pm. Major lines will continue to operate until 12:30am. Luckily, a few lines of Noctiliens (Night Buses – formerly Noctambus) run in the interim. Noctiliens can be caught at several Parisian train stations, as well as near Châtelet. They stop at a selection of major destinations, including some suburbs.

Strikes happen from time to time, so keep informed. To do this, and to get schedules, ticket prices, and other information about the buses and Noctiliens, visit the RATP’s official website at: ratp.fr.
