“The way I like my town”
Like your town and like writing? Come try your luck at the “The way I like my town” contest hosted by the RATP and the Centre International du Livre under the auspices of France Culture, A Nous Paris, and Pommier publishing. The contest is free, with no obligation to purchase anything, for anyone over the age of 15. Even more interesting is that it is open to writers from any country.
| The contest’s theme: “The way I like my town” invites participants to describe their town as they see it everyday and, especially what they like about it, in French. It’s not as easy as it sounds because it demands precision: the entries cannot exceed 400 signs, spaces included (around 70 words). Online subscription only. | The 3 winners will receive art books and their prose will be displayed in the Paris subway, as well as on partnered web sites, in February and March 2008. The 47 other winners will also receive neat prizes. The award ceremony will be held at the Salon du Livre March 14th to the 19th 2008.
