The Great Race: The ultimate automotive adventure
The first Great Race, that legendary run from New York to Paris was organized in 1908. It was a real technological challenge given the condition of the roads and the state of automotive technology of the time, and proved to be an extraordinary human adventure as well.
| On May 30th 2008 the race will celebrate it centenary with cars trucks, motorcycles and other vehicles propelled by new technologies lined up on the starting line to belt along 35,000 kilometers of Canadian, Chinese, Siberian and Eastern and Western European roads.

| The finish, with all its attendant fanfare, will be at the Eiffel Tower on August 2nd – if all goes well. Last news was there were a few technical glitches to overcome on the Chinese side of things. Follow the action on greatrace.com.
