The Airports of Paris
Paris two commercial airports located just outside the city: Roissy-Charles de Gaulle and Orly. A third airport, located in Beauvais, in the Oise departement, is only one-hour distant from Paris.
| Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport, the largest of the three, is located about 45 minutes from Paris. This airport is Paris’ busiest, and hosts domestic and international flights.
Orly Airport is located 10 minutes from Paris. This airport, which opened in 1946, hosts international as well as domestic flights.
Beauvais Airport is located about 80 minutes from Paris. It hosts domestic and international flights, mostly of low-cost airline companies.
Security in Parisian airports is comparable to most major international airports. Travelers should arrive at least one hour before domestic flights, and three hours before international flights. |
