Pont de Bercy
The Pont de Bercy, originally a suspension bridge commissioned by Louis Philippe after repeated requests by residents to facilitate trade between both banks, was finished six months after the first stone was laid in 1832.
| In 1863 it was rebuilt in stone by order of Napoleon III as a sister bridge to the Pont Louis Philippe. Temporarily renamed the Pont de la Gare, it was subsequently fitted with an upper Viaduct to accommodate the new Metro line in 1909. |
| The Bercy bridge links the Finance Ministry and the Paris-Bercy Omnisports stadium, both on the right bank, to the National Library area on the left bank. |
